The much-celebrated Limoncello is a liqueur originating from the Sorrentine peninsula, the Amalfi coast & the Island of Capri.
Over here, a meal is never truly finish until the lady of the house (or indeed the man!) produces a bottle of Limoncello to offer her guests, served ice cold and undoubtedly even more enjoyable is you are sitting outdoors on a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea!
Our Limoncello Gargiulo is made using the original recipes, meaning that we only use the rind of Lemons which are grown and picked in Sorrento! These are then immersed in a liquid mixture of pure alcohol and sugar – then filtered. This produces the finest limoncello liqueur, with an intense aromatic lemon flavour, a enjoyable level of alcohol and the characteristic yellow colour.
Served ice cold, its even better if you have frozen the glasses it is to be served in as well!
This is traditionally used as an after-dinner digestive, to help your meal go down and clean your pallet, leaving you with the delicious citrus taste. However, in recent years it’s become popular to use Limoncello in a whole manner of other ways, from all sorts of cakes & biscuits to lemon tiramisu, and delicious cocktails such as the Limoncello Spritz.
