Combining two of our most famous products from the Sorrentine Coast, Frantoio Gargiulo produce the most perfect Extra Virgin Lemon infused Olive Oil.
The Gargiulo family wanted to pay homage to their home, the Sorrentine Peninsula, where you will find both the olive and Lemon trees in abundance, massively influencing not only the cultural aspect of this area of Italy, but also the gastronomical and biological history as well.
It is due to the highest quality level of Sorrento’s lemons that we were awarded the prestigious IGP recognition back in 2001. In order to achieve this accolade the lemons must be cultivated exclusively in one of the towns of the Sorrentine Peninsula or the Island of Capri, adhering to the traditional techniques which ensure the absolute best quality produce. For instance the “pagliarelle”, these are wooden structures made form chestnut wood, from 4 to 7 metres in height, to ensure the precious fruits are protected from the elements.
You will really notice the distinct aroma in our lemon extra virgin olive oil, because here at Frantoio Gargiulo we use no less than 74 kilos of fresh lemon rind infused in every 100 litres of oil, thus ensuring a distant, robust flavour, and producing an exceptional product.
Our lemon infused extra Virgin olive oil is the perfect accompaniment to many dishes, but notably both fresh and cooked vegetables, and especially fish. We even like to use it on Pizza!
