Description
The stunning landscape of rolling green hills, filled with vineyards as far as the eye can see, and small hamlets surrounded by lush countryside is where “Devon” originates from – produced with 100% Greco di Tufo grapes.
When the grapes are fully mature, around the 3rd week in October normally, the harvesting starts, still all done by hand. The grapes are then pressed, and the must ferments in steel tanks at a controlled temperature and then rests once bottled for at least three months. The resulting wine has a vibrant yellow colour with undertones of exotic fruits, peach flowers and almonds. It has a robust flavour with marked acidity and minerality.
A perfect option for an aperitif and its pairs perfectly with any dish featuring fish, such as spaghetti with clams, grilled sword fish, prawn risotto, cod with potatoes, but also goes well with white meats and fresh cheeses.
The Caggiano Cantine is located in a stunning location, and is one of the most renowned wineries in the Irpino area, with lots of history of the local wine industry on display its really like a museum for wine lovers! With around 30 hectares, the vineyard produces all the famous local grapes; Aglianico, Greco, and Falanghina. The Caggiano wines have gained both national and international success due to their quality and outstanding bouquets.
